ANNEX
With most caravans they come with an awning that helps give you some protection from the elements. In addition, you can get an annex, which allows you to have a full enclosed outdoor room. You can be protected on all sides, creating an extension of your van – allowing for more space when the weather is less favourable.
NOTE: If you have a canvas annex, you need to season it – making sure it is water-tight.
MICROFIBRE TOWELS
You are undoubtedly going to be cleaning up water or mud in your caravan during your trip. Microfibre towels are a simple addition to make clean up quick and easy without them taking up too much space. They are small and lightweight in comparison to traditional towels and are quick drying and super absorbent.
LEVELLING RAMPS
Depending on where you decide to go caravanning, it is a good idea to get yourself a set of levelling ramps. Rocky, uneven ground, a sloping site, muddy ground – all can be corrected with levelling ramps to make your home away from home level.
NOTE: It may take a couple of tries to get everything level but take your time, it’s worth it. Reducing the change of items falling out of place and slipping down the bed.
GENERATOR / POWER STATION
When you are camping off-grid, it is always good to be well prepared. There is nothing worse than running out of power and being stranded in the middle of nowhere. That is why it might be time to invest and get yourself a generator or power station – just so you have that piece of mind.

RECOVERY GEAR
It’s better to be safe than sorry and you never know what trouble you are going to run into when out in the Australian bush. This is why we recommend you purchase some recovery gear to help you tackle those difficult situations. Some items could include recovery boards, a shovel, a winch, snatch straps or bow shackles.
HEATED BLANKET
Cold nights are not unusual when you are out caravanning during winter. It is always better to plan ahead and get yourself a heated blanket. Stay snug and warm, and never have a freezing night sleep again.

FIREWOOD
Nothing feels better than after a long day exploring to coming back and making yourself a fire. Either using it to cook dinner, making s’mores or to keep yourself toasty warm. Brining firewood is a beneficial idea to make those winter nights just that little bit more appealing.
NOTE: Make sure you read up on the regulations of the collection of firewood at your campground and always follow fire safety protocol.
